Dear Gibson,

I just got back from picking you up from school, and as you and Aubrey got into the car, you were talking about reading. She was saying that her teacher misses a lot of school because she has to go to training meetings, and you said it's because she needs to learn how to teach you to read more and to like reading more. Aubrey said that reading is boring, and asked you if you thought that reading is boring, too. You said, no! Reading is so fun, it takes you to lots of places and you love to read because it helps you use your imagination because you like to imagine yourself in the book.

Bestill my heart...you love reading. I love it!

Dear Reader,

I created this blog for several reasons, but the main and most important was so that I could record the feelings I have about Gibson. He is a choice human being, and I often feel like he's growing up too fast and I'm forgetting too much. I hope that as I spend time each day focusing all of my attention on him I will be able to recall the little things he does that make a difference in my life. I also hope to share with him insights into who I am, how I see the world, and how I see him in the world. Already I have noticed that I pay closer attention to the experiences that we have every day, and that is something special. I hope I can convey the love I feel for my sweet little boy - with a healthy dose of reality and humor, too! I hope you enjoy these glimpses into our life; I am sure having fun sharing them.
